Biblipole is an independent publication about books as physical objects — editions, bindings, illustrations, and the quiet mechanics of building a personal library worth keeping.

The name. Biblipole is a name inspired by bibliopole, the old word for a bookseller — with a spelling all its own. We use it consistently in the masthead and everywhere else; that’s the whole story.

What we cover. The focus is the decision every reader of physical books eventually faces: which edition should I own? We write practical guides — like what to check before buying a used illustrated hardback and what “first edition” actually means — and we keep a free library inventory tool for documenting what you own. Where we link to booksellers, we say so plainly next to the link.

What we don’t do. No fake scarcity, no invented “collectible” claims, no pretending an algorithm read the book. Where we describe an edition, we say what our information is based on; where we haven’t personally examined a copy, we don’t pretend we have.

The history. Biblipole began in 2016 as something else entirely: a wall of geek humor. That original picture wall is still online, because archives matter and some of it is genuinely funny.
